ABOUT

I am not a poet. As an artist, I want to be free to create useless things, but I do not wish to be irresponsible. Art is the best means of expression for me, sculpting is my language and any sculpted object is my medium. My sculptures evoke the world and human feelings. Man appears in each of them and I’m part of the world. Not only do I fit into this world, but I can also feel it and express it. I doubt modernity and dislike art dealing with itself only.

Steel is about balance, the threat of falling, ordeals, wounds, scars, fragilty and the Quest for the right way. I use metaphors and try to be subtle.

The work presented here is only a glimpse of the search I started in 2005. It is impossible for me to separate expression from ethics, or technique from aesthetics, as you will see.

I am not a poet : my sculptures do not bear the sublime name of ‘wind combs’ ( E. Chillida). I deal with series entitled ‘chaos’, ‘collapse’, broken unity, upheavals, order and disorder, impact.
